Costume, Props and Location
The story follows our main character from rags to riches and his costume will reflect that. The picture below is a representation of how the character's costume will develop over the curs of the video. He will go from a very casual, poorly dressed person to a business casual dressed person to an important looking man dressed in a full suit

The picture below shows the actual costume that my main character will wear. Over time he will slowly transition to the suit.

The female in the video will follow a similar transition, however, will start from the business casual stage to show that she starts with a certain amount of power that the man does not have.

All the other characters in the music video are important business people and will, therefore, be wearing a combination of business and business casual attire.

Risk Assessment
Potential hazards associated with my video:
Camera equipment
Cars
Public Spaces
CAMERA EQUIPMENT
The equipment I will use will be a tripod, therefore I must make sure that the area around the camera is clear. This is to ensure that people do not trip over the tripod. It also means that no one will kick and break the camera. This is not too dangerous however it is something that could easily happen.
CARS.
While filming, one of the actors who are currently not in the shot will make sure no cars are approaching and if so we will all go to the side of the road and wait for the cars to pass. I will never place the camera on the road. This is dangerous but not very likely. We will make sure to remain vigilant anyway.
Public Spaces
We will make sure to not be obstructing any paths or filming in places where people are unaware. I will make sure to let any nearby people know that we are filming so that they do no accidentally get in the way of one of the actors or walk into equipment. This is not very dangerous but can easily happen

LOGO DESIGNS
The first thing I did when making my logo, was picking the main colour. I wanted the logo to resemble a car licence plate because it reflects one of the conventions of rappers, showing off nice assets (cars and houses) I decided on the yellow design as it is a colour which makes it look like a licence plate and also resembles gold and links to jewellery. I used a sans serif font to make it look very contemporary as I am looking to appeal to a younger audience

I developed the basic design to get this design which is meant to reflect subverting against the norm as everything is crossed out.

I decided finally on this design that uses the same sans-serif font of licence plates and therefore reinforces the point further

Preliminary task music video
We went through the planning elements by storyboarding the task and assigning actors. We then proceeded to film and then edit our own individual videos. The planning session was vital as it showed me how much detail I needed to use in my storyboard. That is an improvement I will make on my final project as the storyboard for this task was not very detailed and this led to long, boring, unedited scenes.
During the filming and editing process, I was taught how to do a "match on action" which helps the video flow nicely. This is something I will take on board in my project. I was also taught about basic transitions such as the fade. I will experiment with the different transition types with my final project.
In terms of camera work, the entire video was shot by a handheld camera which made the video look a lot less professional and also messy. To improve on this I will use a Tripod and possibly a dolly in order to keep the shots smooth and looking professional.

Synopsis
[Intro]
Ah, I might, Ah, I might
I think you should trust in me
Ah, I might (doin' just fine), Ah, I might
I think you should trust in me
[Verse 1]
Let winter know I'm the cold one, was sleeping then
But now I have awoken, kiss chase in school
I was never chosen
Now I get girls that are better than my old ones
And better than your new ones
[Pre-Chorus]
Tell a hater "do one"
I am such a nuisance
MOBOS with a swanky suit and some sparkly Louboutin
Wardrobe full of different fabrics, I don't know what to choose from
My mind's all over the place, I cannot choose one
[Chorus]
Kids doin' just great
I'm doin' just great now
Things ain't ever what they make out
That's why I gotta stay out
Man ah grind 'til I gotta skate out
All the games that they play I play
We don't share the same traits
So I'm doin' just fine
[Post-Chorus]
I'm doin' just fine
Doin' just great
I'm doin' just fine
(I think you should trust in me)
We don't share the same traits
So I'm doin' just fine
[Verse 2]
Hate on me on a sly that's fine 'cause I don't care
Chattin' off behind my back that's facts 'cause I've got burnin' ears
My glow up is a haters hell on Earth I hope they burnin' well
They stay on watch me shine
Doin' that Big Ben 'cause it's my time
[Pre-Chorus]
Tell a hater "do one"
I am such a nuisance
MOBOS with a swanky suit and some sparkly new Louboutin
Wardrobe full of different fabrics, I don't know what to choose from
My mind's all over the place, I cannot choose one

MUSIC VIDEO SYNOPSIS
The narrative of my video will be following a character with a passion for his business, which he has built with his friend. His friend comes from a wealthy background (as opposed to the main character who comes from a working-class background) and funds everything and as the project is about to launch he fires the main character for "not looking the part". The main character will be wearing casual clothing to contrast to the smart business wear of the friend. As he walks out, somebody else is walking in (a rich looking character wearing smart, business clothing) to replace him. He goes on start brainstorming and working hard to start again from the bottom and become successful without the help of his former friend. On the journey of building his own empire, he meets a woman who is as driven as he is and they help each other, as equal partners to grow and become a successful duo. Throughout the song, showing his struggle to success and he then is more successful than the friend at the beginning. This narrative fits well with the song as the narrative of the song is that the singer did better than others expected of him.
In terms of visuals, I will use a steady cam and tripod to keep the footage smooth. The video is smooth and continuous, which is shown through the lack of handheld shots which are messier. I want the video to look professional so it will have a series of establishing shots in order to set the scene. Close-ups will be used in order to pay attention to little details that will be key to the narrative. The bulk of the video will be made up of mid-shots and also a few long shots. The mid shots are used mainly so that the audience is able to pay attention to the subject of the shot, however, the setting around them will be shown. The setting in the video will reflect the main character's journey, (eg. starts in a small dirty bedroom and as the video goes on he upgrades to a nicer, larger bedroom. The video will make sure that the video has a clear narrative that is easy to follow and also flows seamlessly.
The video is comprises of these main parts:
The video takes some conventions of rap music videos however it also subverts. The video shows off luxury cars and locations like most rap videos do. The convention that is subverted is the use of women in the video. The female character in the video is represented as a businesswoman and an equal to the man. This contrasts from the stereotypical idea of women being seen as items, especially in a western patriarchal society (Van Zoonen).

The video is comprises of these main parts:
- The main character and his best friend are about to start a business venture together.
- The friend fires the main as he "doesn't look the part"
- The friend starts to work hard from scratch in order to build another business
- The business takes off and he is now rivalling his former friend's company.
- He builds his own empire and becomes successful, even without the financial help of a wealthy background.
This follows Todorov's narrative theory.

The convention that is subverted is the use of women in the video. The female character in the video is represented as a businesswoman and an equal to the man.
